Then and Now
West Point Firehouse
|
|
West Point Volunteer Fire Company (approx 1952)
The truck in the middle, a 1929 Hahn, was named "Ezmirelda" by the
firemen.
The truck on the right is a 1947 Mack 750 GPM pumper. Both are owned by the fire
company to this day.

Bigger fire trucks mean a bigger firehouse!
The original firehouse is now a banquet hall attached to a much larger
firehouse. |
|
|
The old firehouse is hidden under the new
facade. |
|
2013. Original firehouse is on the left. |

Another 1952 photo. |

|
1947 MACK Pumper, A.K.A. Engine No. 3,
seen in the 1952 photos.
Cost in 1947 was $10,481. |

The vintage fire trucks are still used in parades. Ezmirelda is
on the right.
