Then and Now West Point School House |

The rear of the schoolhouse in 1908. Everyone looks absolutely miserable. Looking southeast from Garfield Avenue near Broad Street. In 1908 this side of Garfield Avenue was named Schultz Road. Broad Street was Lansdale Road, sometimes called "The Lansdale Road." The Lansdale Road was named "Broad Street" in Lansdale. Photo thanks to Dick Shearer |

The same location 100 years later.

In August 1920 the schoolhouse was remodeled as a residence by Enos Vaughan.

In the 1990s the schoolhouse was
demolished to align Garfield Ave at Broad Street. On this 1934 map the schoolhouse is the little red rectangle at the intersection. |
|
One could imagine the plaque in the ground is embossed, "Site of West Point Schoolhouse." In reality is says, "TRAFFIC SIGNAL." |
